"BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE

Blanca's Beautification Committee works to revitalize the downtown area. The volunteer committee is recognized by ordinance as a standing committee of the Town of Blanca. It is the recipient of a $284,000 grant by the Colorado Department of Transportation for the construction of new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and decorative street lights. To raise required matching funds, the town held a First Blanca Harvest Festival. All proceeds from the vendor's fees, the silent auction, the pie contest judging, the potato toss game, and the sale of official T-shirts were used to match the grant requirements.
